SCLRC announces partnership with WP Rawl through Holy Spaces Campaign
The South Carolina Lutheran Retreat Centers’ staff and Board of Trustees are grateful to announce a new partnership with Walter P. Rawl & Sons, Inc., and their pledge of support for the Building+Renewing+Believing: Holy Spaces Campaign.
As a partner in ministry, WP Rawl is helping to usher in the next chapter of Camp Kinard’s ministry as SCLRC seeks to build a new Multi-use Chapel – a holy and accessible space for individuals to gather, worship, and create life-long memories.

“Being a part of the body of Christ” on retreat
Provided in part by: Dan Koon
This summer, Coastal Retreat was glad to welcome Lutheran Congregations from the Dutch Fork Cluster for their first ever beach retreat. Individuals from Bethel (White Rock), Bethlehem (Irmo), Mt. Hermon (Chapin), Mt. Olivet (Chapin), and St. Thomas (Chapin) all gathered to “[take] advantage of the opportunity to experience the beauty of the SC coast and to enjoy worshipping and growing together through the friendship of fellow believers in Christ.”
“The four-day retreat included an outside Holy Communion Service Friday night on the porch of the Retreat Center with a theme that involved Jesus, the sea and water. Twin boys from St Thomas Lutheran, Christopher and Michael Lindler, had their First Communion at the service after receiving some Holy Communion training on the beach that afternoon.”
We give thanks for all our recent guests at Camp Kinard and Coastal Retreat and the many testimonies that are shared about the power of intentional time together while on retreat! Read Full Article →
